Mikesell’s Two New Chip Flavors – And You Can Win Free Chips!

Written By Caroline in Announcements

Mikesell's Potato Chips - Sweet Chili and Sour Cream alongside Reduced Fat Tuscan Spice

New Logo, Packaging and Flavors!

Mikesell’s, the Dayton based potato chip company, has launched two new flavors of chips this month along with updated branding – and to celebrate we’re hosting a contest for free chips (Interested? Keep reading!)

We recently got to sample the two new flavors before the launch: Sweet Chili and Sour Cream and Tuscan Spice. Let’s begin with the Sweet Chili. It’s a groovy cut chip flavored with sweet chili peppers and a bit of sour cream. Despite being “Sweet Chili” these chips offer a good mild kick of spice, with a cool finish.

The Tuscan Spice chips are smooth in contrast and seasoned with rosemary and other herbs, sun-dried tomato and a splash of olive oil. The rosemary and sun-dried tomato flavors stand out but are not overbearing, resulting in a delicious chip reminiscent of Italian food. They are also reduced fat, resulting in 30% less fat than regular chips.

Both styles of chips are nicely crunchy, flavorful and, well, really good. Adam doesn’t normally care for potato chips however even he managed to eat half of our samples. I was surprised that both of us enjoyed them so much.

These new flavors coincide with a revitalization of Mikesell’s brand which includes an updated logo and packaging design. The new logo and packages are clean, simple and modern. I’ll admit I had to look up the old logo, and the new one is definitely a huge improvement.

In celebration of the brand and flavor launch, we’re hosting a contest for a six-pack case of both new chip flavors (three of each.) These aren’t sample sizes either, these are full-size 10 oz. bags of chips.

Both sample packages.

Headquartered in Dayton, Ohio, Mikesell’s opened for business in 1910 originally selling dried beef and sausage. After purchasing a potato-cutting machine the small business turned into a multi-million dollar potato chip company. Today they are one of the oldest potato chip companies in the country and produce over 20 million pounds of potato chips each year. Annually they sell 12 million bags to the Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana and Illinois region.
